Feb 1

While I'm writing the comics adaptation for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, releasing in May, it turns out some of my earlier comics have a connection to a movie coming out earlier that month. If you catch the Iron Man trailer, the blonde reporter character at the opening is Christine Everhart. I created her in Iron Man #75 to serve as the media's foil for Tony Stark — I didn't find an opportunity to use the character again, but it looks like Hollywood did!

Someone has posted this interview with the actress, Leslie Bibb, who looks an awful lot like the comics character:

I also see from the cast listings that Bill Smitrovich has been cast as General Gabriel. I introduced General Gabriel as the chairwoman of the joint chiefs of staff in #73, though she didn't get named until #79. She also appears in  #84-85. (Yes, it's a woman in the comics.) With the military elements in the movie, I wouldn't be surprised to find more minor characters coming from the "Secretary Stark" year.

Fun stuff!
