The Diamond shipping chart says this is the week for not one, not two, but three Star Wars comics — including Knights of the Old Republic #27, the third part of "Vector." Notes on the issue to come — after I recover a bit from New York. Well, maybe more than a bit!

4/28 Update: And now the notes are online. Enjoy!

Re: Knights of the Old Republic #27 — Mando-Rak Attack!

Great read, Mr. Miller! Celeste is quickly becoming one of my favorite supporting characters in the book, and her line about being suprised any time Zayne opened a door without knocking himself out drew stares for my bark of laughter. It's fun to have someone to compare and contrast your standard hyper-competent Jedi with Zayne, who's... um, Zayne.

Long time no post Mr. Miller! I am loving Vector, and cant wait to pick this issue up. Wow, 27 issues in, each one great. Speaking of Vector, rumor has it Hasbro might be making a few figures from the series. Looks like I get a Zayne figure after all. I definetly say Vector trumps Force Unleashed as well as The Clone Wars as biggest Star Wars event of 08, cant wait to see how it ends!

Here's a question to JJM. I've read on Wookieepedia that the names "Celeste" and "Morne" appear in the random name generator in KOTOR II. Did you know about that when you named her? (Not that it matters, since it's pretty clear now that Celeste is not the Exile.)

That's very interesting -- but, no, the game had nothing to do with that one. In fact, the name was a joint effort. John Ostrander came up with Morne; I came up with Celeste, looking for something, well, celestial-sounding.

Well, in french, "Morne" translates as something in-between "dull" and "deadened", and "Celeste" is an old adjective used for something that relates to the sky.
To the french reader, she actually has got a very poetic name, but it does not sound very scifi. Anyway, I like the sound of it. Did you happen to do choose it on purpose ?

Re: Knights of the Old Republic #27 — Mando-Rak Attack!

We wanted a first name for her that suggested something stellar, as befitting a very wide-ranging traveller. The first name was actually not our first choice, but that is a much longer story. Maybe we'll get to it one day!
