And with this week's strips, Chapter 3: Ruffled Feathers begins — in which the crafty and untrustworthy Duke Benedict concocts a devious plan to... well, that would be telling! We'll have a separate chapter archive for Chapter 3 when we get a few more strips online.

A few weeks back we mentioned how the late George Carlin had inspired part of this sequence. He put out a book in 1990 or so called Sometimes A Little Brain Damage Can Help, and among other things it included a number of his fake news stories. One news brief noted how "In Italy, a statue of Jesus came to life and started giving fishing tips." Absurdly funny in the famous Carlin style — and when we needed an absurdity for the basis of commerce in the tall tale Herbert was telling... well, there it was.
We'll miss ya, George!
